Project Description	Sewa Bharat implemented a Digital Sakhi Program (2018-2023) in two districts of Odisha (Boudh and Balangir) covering about 8 blocks and 118 villages. Under the program, Sewa Bharat created a cadre of 100 Digital Sakhis and supported 500 women entrepreneurs. Digital Sakhis were provided with training on digital and financial literacy so that these trained Digital Sakhis could enhance the digital and financial literacy at the community level. IMPACT PSD was entrusted the assignment of conducting annual evaluation in 2022 as well as endline assessment of the program in 2023. IMPACT PSD successfully completed both the assignments in Odisha and submitted the reports.

Project Description	Wadhwani Foundation runs multiple programs on employability and livelihoods that not only include training but also exposure and practical. These program also include vocational trainings that are meant for providing opportunities to youths in getting the suitable employment. IMPACT PSD was engaged in conducting the impact assessment of all the WF programs in multiple phases. To name a few are WF Advantage Program, WF NEN program, WF VF Program and WGO project (Job Rise and Job Ready programs). The assessment included telephonic survey, physical site visits, face to face interviews with the course participants, etc. All the assessment studies are over and report as well as presentations have been submitted.

	Evaluation of Navigator—A Technology based Intervention in Ratnagiri District of Maharashtra (2023)

Project Description	Gyan Prakash Foundation (GPF) works in Maharashtra and has been supporting in improving the quality of primary education (Grades 1 to 5) through various channels including building capacities of teachers and strengthening the systems. GPF has developed a tool (app) named Navigator which is to be used by teachers for tracking the academic progress of children. The Navigator has been successfully piloted and established the effectiveness of the app. IMPACT PSD has been allocated the task of conducting the baseline and endline evaluation of intervention in Ratnagiri district covering all the blocks and focusing on students and teachers, kendra pramuhs (KPs) as key target groups.

	Accelerating Maternal and Child Health and Nutrition (MCHN) and Early Childhood Care and Education (ECCE) Services to Tribal Population in Rayagada District of Odisha (2023)

Project Description	CINI has initiated an intervention on accelerating the MCHN and ECCE in the Rayagada district of Odisha covering two rural blocks—Kolnara and Ramnaguda. The aim is work with ICDS and Health departments in strengthening the existing systems so that ANMs and AWWs could provide effective MCHN services as well as AWWs focus on ECCE components for 3-6 years children. IMPACT has conducted the baseline evaluation for the project covering multiple stakeholders wherein 40 AWCs have been covered and more than 900 HHs were covered. Under the study, quantitative survey was conducted with mothers and pregnant women and semi-structured interviews with Medical Officers, ANMs, AWWs, ASHAs and VHSNC members. Additionally, AWC observation were undertaken and anthropometry for under 5 years’ children were conducted. The report has been submitted along with slide deck presentation.

Project Description	HDFC Bank Parivartan is an umbrella program that supports covid support projects, focused development projects and direct projects in all thematic areas. During the COVID-19 pandemic, as a part of COVID Relief support, HDFC Bank supported in many ways as given below: (a) Distribution of Ration Kits and Hygiene Kits (b) ICU Set ups including Equipment for Government Hospitals (c) Ventilators and HFNC distribution (d) Installation of Oxygen Plants in rural healthcare setups (e) Development of rural healthcare infrastructure (f) Trainings to CSCs for registering rural population on CoWin platform and ensure vaccination IMPACT PSD was contacted at different times to undertake the impact assessment of these projects through site visits and assess the impact of the support in terms of proportion of people served, saved and how mortality was reduced, value for money, usage and experience, etc. All the impact assessment studies are over and reports and slide decks have been submitted.

	Focussed Development Project—Impact Assessment of Two Projects on Establishing Smart Classes and Supporting ICT Lab Set ups in Government Schools (Promotion of Digital Education)

Project Description	Education has been kept in the core of the HDFC Bank Parivartan which always support for promoting education related programs and interventions. HDFC Bank funded two projects—One was establishing Smart classes with smart projectors and digital content in government schools, and the second, rejuvenating ICT Labs in government schools and provide them Knowledge Servers with digital content that can be used without internet connectivity. Additionally, some support was provided for the initial level maintenance of equipment to run the technology based teaching for Science, Maths, English and Social Science subjects. IMPACT PSD was entrusted to conduct the impact assessment of these two projects where site visits were made and beneficiaries were met, stakeholders were interviewed to assess the impact of the support in terms of improvement of students learning outcomes, increase in reputation of schools and attendance in classes, etc. All the projects were successfully finished and reports and presentations have been submitted.

	Focussed Development Project—Impact Assessment of Installation of Solar Lights in Uttar Pradesh and Uttarakhand

Project Description	HDFC Bank funded the project through Ambuja Cement Foundation (ACF) as a part of their larger project on installation of solar lights in 110 villages of Agra and Haridwar. IMPACT PSD was hired for conducting the impact assessment wherein local women and men beneficiaries and locally elected representatives were interviewed and focus group discussions were conducted with adolescents to understand on how the solar lights have benefitted them in terms of accessibility, mobility, social interactions, solutions for the power cuts, decline in accidents due to dark nights within village crossings, etc.

	Focussed Development Project—Impact Assessment of CSC Digital Villages (2 projects)

Project Description	HDFC Bank extended their support to the rural based Common Service Centres that run under CSC Academy and provided set up with 1 complete desktop, 4 TFTs with N Computing Devices and 1 printer and named as Education Lab. The aim was to provide support to local adolescents and youths in terms of access to education lab and go through PMGDISHA program and basic computer course. In this manner, the entire village where CSC has been setup would become digital village. IMPACT PSD was engaged to conduct the impact assessment of CSC Digital Villages in 4 states in India. Under the assignment, the team visited the CSCs meeting with customers and students and CSC Heads (Village Level Entrepreneurs—VLEs). The assignment was successfully finished and reports etc. have been submitted.

	Mid-term Review of the Neev Project (2023)

Project Description	LLF has been implementing a Neev project in Durg district of Chhattisgarh since 2019. The aim of the project is to improve the foundational level skills of students of Grades 1 to 3 in funcational language and numeracy. IMPACT PSD was assigned the responsibility of conducting the mid-term evaluation of the Neev project to ascertain the current status and validate the theory of change adopted by the project. IMPACT administered the survey in demonstration schools, scale-up schools, pilot schools along with the control schools. The report has been submitted along with slide deck.

	Evaluation of the Education Project in Shravasti District of Uttar Pradesh (2023)

Project Description	The LLF is initiating a program on foundational literacy in Shravasti having the two key outcomes—(a) improvement in teaching and learning practices, and (b) improvement in students’ learning outcomes in key competencies of foundational literacy by the time they complete Grade 3. LLF intended to conduct baseline evaluation to assess the net impact of the intervention by assessing the improvement in learning outcomes of students who are taught by the teachers who have been trained as part of the project intervention. IMPACT PSD conducted the baseline evaluation in Shravasti district covering 3 blocks and covered sample schools from the universe of 457 target schools. The evaluation covered students assessment, teachers interviews and classroom observations. The report and slide deck presentation have been submitted.

	Audience Assessment of Information Seeking Behaviour of Sexually Active Persons

Project Description	BlueLotus Advisory is an advisory firm that works with enterprises and institutions helping them grow effectively. ‘Safe Zindagi’ is an online platform funded by USAID and PEPFAR and implemented through Project ACCELERATE, in partnership with the National AIDS Control Organization of India. Project ACCELERATE is led by the Johns Hopkins University School of Medicine. The online platform offers the information and services to the sexually active persons. IMPACT PSD was selected for conduct the audience assessment of information seeking behaviour of the sexually active persons through online survey. The online survey was carried out in 18 cities of India with young men and women, Men having sex with men, sex workers (men, women and transgender) and transgender community. In the survey, those who accessed safe zindagi platform and who have not accessed, both were included. A total sample of 1400+ was covered to undertake analysis and appropriate conclusion and findings were prepared. Few qualitative interviews were also conducted over telephone as well as face-to-face in-person.

Project Description	Samarthyam implemented a project supported by UN ESCAP which was designed to achieve outcomes that included improved technical capacity of Organisation of Persons with Disabilities (OPDs) to advocate for their rights, conduct accessibility audits, increased representation of women with disabilities and increased representation of persons with disabilities (PwDs) in government level committees. IMPACT provided the support in documentation as well as reporting of the project phases and also conducted qualitative interviews with the beneficiaries, project staff and stakeholders.

	Baseline Assessment of Learning Competencies of Students of Grades 1 to 5 (2022)

Project Description	ENNOBLE is working the Department of Education in Ulhasnagar district of Maharashtra to introduce an innovative model of conducting classroom teaching for primary grade students (grades 1 to 5) in order to improve their learning competencies. The model introduces a different pedagogy that engages students in different activities to develop their skills in local language, English (understanding, reading, writing, grammar) and various aspects of mathematics. IMPACT PSD conducted the baseline study to establish the baseline estimates for the indicators which would be assessed at the endline evaluation to see the overall impact of the intervention in the target schools. Under the evaluations, students from 15 schools (8 were Marathi and 7 were English medium) were assessed through a quantitative tool and level of competencies were computed including STEM related skills for students of Grade 4 and 5. About 600 students were included in the evaluation.

Project Description	Educo is a global development cooperation and humanitarian action NGO that supported Masoom (NGO) for the Night Schools Transformation Program for 7 years (2012 to 2020). The aim was to improve the quality of education in the night schools covering 473 students. IMPACT PSD was assigned the task of conducting the final evaluation of the NSTP. Largely, it was a qualitative evaluation wherein site visits were made to meet the students and have interaction to understand their opinion and their learnings as well as achievements under the program. Other stakeholders such as teachers, headmasters, program staff were also covered under the evaluation. The report and presentation have been submitted.

	Evaluation of Sanmaan Project—Protecting Children Found Begging in Mumbai (2023)

Project Description	Educo is a global development cooperation and humanitarian action NGO that supported Prerana (NGO) to implement a project to support children engaged in begging in three communities of Mumbai and Thane. The project was implemented since 2021 where Prerna was working directly with children from the most marginalized communities who have migrated into Mumbai and are now pushing their children into begging. Educo engaged IMPACT PSD to conduct a comprehensive evaluation of the Sanmaan project interventions and assess the efficacy of the model in terms of its replicability and scalability of the model. IMPACT PSD conducted the qualitative assessment of the project and site visits were made to see the activities and met stakeholders such as children, parents, ICDS officials, DCPU, CWC and locally elected representatives. Project Description	Digital Green supported the women farmers through Aajeevika in Jharkhand and through OLSM in Odisha state. Under the ATLAS project, the women farmers were aimed for enhancing their yield/produce. through a package of recommended practices such as climate supported agriculture, irrigation practices, use of natural pesticide management, post-harvest management and marketing through online platform (KDE—Kisan Diary Enterprise). Also the farmers were encouraged to form FPOs and manage their sales to the buyers and institutions directly. Additionally, project also focused on empowering the women farmers in taking their own decisions related to agriculture and marketing of their produce. IMPACT PSD conducted both mid-term and endline evaluation of the ATLAS project. Under the assignment, all the project districts were covered and women farmers, their husbands were interviewed to assess the impact of the project interventions. Qualitative discussions were also conducted with extension workers involved in the project. Additionally, head of the Farmers Producers Companies/ Organizations were also interviewed. Project Description	Digital Green, in association with Government of AP and Telangana states through Department of Agriculture and Horticulture supported the Chili growing farmers wherein promoting use of recommended practices to get the higher and quality produce. Additionally, chili growing farmers were supported for the quality assaying of the chilies through AgNext and sales/marketing through Kalgudi—an online platform. IMPACT was allocated the task of conducting mid-term and endline evaluation of E-Mircha and Saagu Baagu projects in both the states. Under the study, farmers were interviewed to assess the impact of the project interventions and their opinion on AgNext and Kalgudi. Additionally, stakeholders from AgNext, Kalgudi, FARMSTACK and Government officials were also interviewed to capture their association and experiences with the projects. 	EdelGive Women Portfolio Assessment – Impact Assessment of Women Empowerment Grants to 16 Partner NGOs

Project Description	EdelGive Foundation has provided around multiple grants to 16 partner NGOs under the women empowerment portfolio aiming to provide support to women and girls across various states through need-based interventions related women exploitation, sexual and domestic violence and harassment in any situation. Different states/geographies have different issues related to women where they need immediate support in terms of domestic, legal, livelihood, psycho-social, medical, etc. IMPACT PSD in association with EdelGive Foundation finalized the strategic plan for the impact assessment and formed a team of senior researchers experienced in Gender and Women Empowerment sector. The 3-days site visits were made to meet the women beneficiaries, stakeholders, and program team officials to collect data and information related to the projects on women empowerment. The reports have been submitted for all the partners as well as the combined report.

	Landscaping Study on Women in Leadership in Private Sector in India

Project Description	EdelGive Foundation intended to conduct a research study on women in leadership in private sector in India specifically in Banking, Financial Services and Insurance sector. More than 60 interviews were conducted with women who were at senior positions in the private sector as well as other sectors like non-profit sectors. All the qualitative interviews were conducted by the senior management level researchers and covered CXOs and second line leadership officials. The report finalization is in progress.

Project Description	AIF has been implementing Learning Continuum Program in Jharkhand and Odisha in partnership with state government on improvement of students learning outcomes. AIF has established Learning Resource Centres (LRCs) who also support Spoke schools in the periphery. In addition, AIF is also working on Schools Partnership Model to provide trainings to teachers in target schools so that they adopt techno-pedagogy that would help schools in improving the students learning outcomes. IMPACT PSD was assigned the task of conducting. Baseline, Mid-term and Endline evaluation of the program to assess the impact of the Learning Continuum Program. Under the assessment, census of students from Grade 3 to Grade 8 have been undertaken who were assessed using self-administered tool. In addition, teachers, principals and SMC members were also covered. Two rounds have been completed and the endline is due in 2024 at the end of academic session.

Project Description	Seekho Sikhao Foundation (SSF) is a non-profit organization that aims to transform the learning outcomes of students in rural India, by facilitating systemic changes at the school level. It works with the government, local communities, and rural youth to make the educational ecosystem impactful and sustainable. SSF offers three main programs: Learning, Governance, and Seekho Fellowship. SSF currently operates in the Sitapur district of Uttar Pradesh, where it reaches over 400,000 children, 1500 teachers, 15 fellows, and 3000 schools spared across 19 administrative blocks of Sitapur. To generate scientific evidence of the net effectiveness of the Learning and Governance programs on students' learning outcomes, IMPACT PSD was contacted to conduct a study to establish the contribution of SSF interventions (individually Learning and Governance and a combined impact of both interventions) in improving the learning outcomes of primary grade students (Grades 1 to 3). 	Status and Situational Analysis of Human Trafficking in Cross-border Districts of Bihar

Project Description	The project was supported by ATSEC, Bihar with specific funding from PLAN India, Save the Children, Action Aid and BRC-CWS. The study was conducted in 9 districts across border areas to assess the situation of human trafficking. Study incorporated quantitative and qualitative research methodologies comprising of structured research tools as well as discussion guides for in-depth interviews. Under the study, migrants from Nepal and India, Law Enforcement Officials, Transporters, Religious and Faith Leaders were contacted and interviewed. The border area points were also visited and ATSEC partner NGOs involved in human trafficking issues were interviewed and information on their efforts was captured. It was encouraging that NGOs are involved with full dedication but many of them replicating the similar types of interventions and majority of the organizations did not have any phase out plan or any community supported or dependent mechanism for dealing with human trafficking menace. This exploratory research highlighted several hurdles in handling human trafficking issues and shortcomings that need to be dealt with very soon. The results were disseminated at Patna in a one-day dissemination meeting where then Minister of Social Welfare, Ms. ParveenAmanullah chaired the sessions. She stressed that the recommendations that have been shared should be dealt with commitment so that human trafficking initiatives should get prioritized.

Project Description	IMPACT had undertaken the evaluation of ChildFund International funded ‘Capacity Building Initiative for NGO Partners to Protect Children from Trafficking in Udaipur (Rajasthan)’ in June 2011. The Trafficking In Persons (TIP) project had three years duration implemented in three tribal blocks of Udaipur district namely Jhadol, Gogunda and Kotda. The five NGO partners were: SevaBharati, Gandhi ManavKalyan Society (GMKS), Dakshin Rajasthan Majdoor Union (DRMU), ChetanaArogyaMandir (CAM) and ALERT Sansthan at Udaipur. Under the project, capacity building of five identified NGO partners was done on trafficking, Juvenile Justice Act and issues related to Child Trafficking along with focusing on establishing a Network at district and Community level Task Forces at block level to tackle child migration for employment in BT Cotton fields in Gujarat state. IMPACT has successfully finished the evaluation which was mainly qualitative in nature. IMPACT team undertook desk research, in-depth interviews and focus groups along with telephonic interactions with stakeholders, government functionaries, programme officials and beneficiaries. The report and results are available with ChildFund India team at New Delhi.

Project Description	For ChildFund India, IMPACT has recently carried out a nation-wide study undertaking the Capacity Assessment of all 52 ChildFund’s NGO partners in 8 states of India as well as their national office. The capacity assessment included a three-day visit to each of the partner in order to assess their capacities in the areas of programme, M&E, external relations, finance and human resource. At each partner location, comprehensive field visits to the programme area were made wherein in-depth interactions with key stakeholders, target groups, programme staff were undertaken. In addition, sponsored families were also contacted to know their perceptions and assess the type of support they received under the programme. One of the key highlight was an online self-reported tool which has been developed for regular use of the ChildFund for its partners in future and which would help in computing Performance Index for its partners. AED-ARTS, LLC, was a subsidiary of the Academy for Educational Development in partnership with a consortium of organizations was implementing ‘Diarrhoea Alleviation through Zinc and ORS Therapy (DAZT)’ project to reduce and rationally manage childhood diarrhoea. DAZT aimed to reduce morbidity and mortality related to diarrheal disease among children under 5 years of age, through deployment of new and improved approaches to scale up Zinc and Oral Rehydration salts (ORS) for diarrhoea treatment through both public and private sector channels. The project aimed to reduce the burden of diarrhoea on child health and increase child survival in India, and contributed to improved child health outcomes and provided actionable information for diarrhoea treatment and dehydration management efforts around the world. The main purpose was to increase awareness and usages of Zinc & ORS among Rural Health Care Providers & Mothers/Caregivers. It proposed a communications-based strategy using state of the art Behaviour Change Communication (BCC) techniques and attempted to use latest and innovative measures to increase the awareness among rural health care providers and mothers, thus leading to increase in demand for low osmolairty ORS and Zinc. The basic assumption was that the increase in demand would mobilize the market forces (both chemists and pharmaceutical manufacturers/suppliers) to ensure there is enough supply to meet out the demand. However, the proposal did make attempts to establish links between manufactures, suppliers, retailers and end users. The two districts Bareilly and Badayun in Uttar Pradesh and was for two years duration.

Similar study was also undertaken in West Bengal covering South 24 Parganas and North 24 Parganas. This study involved secondary research methodology as well as primary research which mainly had qualitative methods like in-depth interviews with various stakeholders including public sector health officials and owners/managers of private health facilities. The study results will be utilized by Technical Support Unit (TSU) in Uttar Pradesh for devising strategies for data sharing from the private sector health facilities in future. Project Description	IMPACT has been consistently entrusted by Micronutrient Initiative for conducting Audit for the Supply Chain of ORS and Zinc under government health system. Support to public sector for better management of childhood diarrhoea is one of a leading capacity development programmes of MI in Bihar State. IMPACT undertook the second supply audit study in three districts—Banka, Sheohar and Sitamarhi in June 2012 and also recently finished the third round in five districts—Banka, Bhagalpur, Samastipur, Sheohar and Sitamarhi. Under the supply audit study, five major components have been audited namely (i) Procurement, (ii) Distribution, (iii) Storage, (iv) Utilization and (v) Stock outs and Replenishment at District, Block, Health Sub-centre and Village levels. In addition, compliance to reporting at all levels and validation of reporting figures was also undertaken. Primarily, the study incorporated the quantitative research methodology but qualitative methods were also used in the third round of supply audit in order to explore and identify the reasons for stock outs, replenishments and problems/barriers faced by the frontline workers (ANM, ASHA and AWW) at various levels.

	Conditional Cash Transfer in PPTCT Management

Project Description	IMPACT provided its technical assistance to India Health Action Trust (IHAT) in the implementation of PPTCT interventions in two districts of Rajasthan—Dungarpur and Pali. The programme aimed to contribute in two major thematic areas—(a) Community interventions to address loss to follow-up in PPTCT, and (b) Early Infant Diagnosis. Probably this was the first ever attempt to test the effectiveness of conditional cash transfer in PPTCT management. The programme helped pregnant mothers in accessingRCH services through cash assistance. The programme involved HIV positive pregnant women, their children, grass-root health service providers and PHC staff as direct beneficiaries and other pregnant women vulnerable to HIV infection and service providers for MCH services as indirect beneficiaries. The project results showed increase in number of pregnant women screened for HIV within 6 months of their pregnancy; pregnant WLHIV enrolled for follow-up; mothers and babies received recommended prophylaxis treatment; newborn/infants receive testing for HIV within 6 months, etc. The project duration was 36 months.

	SNEH : Strengthening Home-based Psychosocial Care and Support to Children Affected by HIV

Project Description	SNEH proposed to build the capacities of family members of Children Affected with HIV, in Rajasthan, in order to be able them to support their children, take care of their mental health, emotional needs and child rights vis-à-vis ensure appropriate service delivery at various channels. Children Affected and Infected by HIV (CAHIV) have very specific needs other than health issues. They face mental and emotional stress due to their whatever status and due to their parental status Complications often arise due to the stigma and discrimination at family level and sometimes outside the family — a the peer, school or community level. Often the families are unaware of their needs in terms of nutrition, mental health and emotional bearings which often results in lack of support to their CAHIV and thus subsequently leading to violation of child rights. Through SNEH, CAHIV in Rajasthan had received comprehensive care at the family level that addressed their health and well-being including physical, mental, emotional and sociological rights/needs. SNEH shall disseminate the proven comprehensive care model to other 28 state networks of people living with HIV through capacity development for implementing the model. Under the SNEH Project, a baseline research was undertaken to gather an understanding about the socio demographic status of families of CAHIV a cohort study was undertaken in Jaipur and Jalore districts of Rajasthan. About 60 families were covered under the cohort research. IMPACT also conducted a theatre-based research workshop with 60 CAHIV residing in the districts of Jaipur and Jalore comprising of three days each was composed of a host of interactive sessions namely role plays, dance and other creative forms of expression with children up to 16 years of age. Based on the research and exploration of facts and realities, a tool kit (capacity building module) was developed for capacity building of parents of CAHIV so that they can provide support to their children, take care of their mental health and emotional needs, and protect child rights vis-à-vis ensure appropriate service delivery at various channels for their kids. The impact of capacity building using the developed tool kit was assessed over 6 months to finalize and tool kit was updated prior to scale it up at the state level.

Project Description	CINI was supported technically by Railway Children and financially by Comic Relief to implement an intervention project to protect street and working children and children at railway stations in two districts of West Bengal—Murshidabad and Siliguri. IMPACT was assigned the task to ascertain the extent to which the project objectives have been achieved. The evaluation was carried out using qualitative methods such as Focus Group Discussions, In-depth Interviews and participatory exercises with children to hear their voices. All project target groups were met and interacted during this evaluation. In each of the two districts interaction with children, parents, service providers and stakeholders, along with CINI and RC staff was undertaken by IMPACT. Additionally, IMPACT was asked to verify the quality of information generated through the MEL systems and reliability of data collection, storage and analysis. A short data quality audit was undertaken to ensure and verify the MEL systems. Both quantitative and qualitative discussions using IDIs and FGDs were conducted to capture all minute possible details through site visits.

Project Description	To assist Railway Children in conducting need assessment, IMPACT conducted a research study in West Bengal covering locations—Asansol, Bardhman, Birbhum, Darjeeling, Malda, Murshidabad, Kharagpur, South 24 Parganas, PaschimiMidnapur, Uttar Dinajpur, DakshinDinajpur. The research study identified the most viable trades and businesses realistic for sustainable livelihoods for families and youth in all the covered locations (source areas as well as railway stations). The study also focused on identifying the employment opportunities available for the vulnerable families and youth and the skills that they need to sustainably access the same. Also, mapping of all the government welfare and livelihood schemes that are available in all the source areas, which the families and youth can benefit from, was undertaken. The findings were used for the development of grant proposal by Railway Children.

	Ensuring Specific Rights of Women Living with HIV in Rajasthan

Project Description	IMPACT, in partnership with Rajasthan Network of Positive People (RNP+) had secured a Catalytic Grant from UNIFEM Fund for Gender Equity. FGE made its first round of grants in the catalytic category at the end of December 2009. In all, 27 grants were given in 26 countries, 7 in Asia Pacific Region and only 2 in India. This two year grant was aimed at developing a policy for ensuring the rights of Women living with HIV in the state of Rajasthan. IMPACT was a technical support partner in this grant to RNP+ and its role was to provide technical support to RNP+ in all areas including research, policy design and advocacy for its ratification. The purpose of this grant was to "Draft and submit a policy document to the Government of Rajasthan indicating the Package of Services to be made available to women living with HIV as part of their right to survive with dignity and support the system in ratifying and implementing the policy". Within this advocacy based project a series of consultations were carried out with different stakeholders to gather enough information to draft a "minimum support package" as entitlement for women living with HIV, for which the government of Rajasthan will make commitment to provide as their basic right to live with dignity and advocate with them for ratification and implementation of the policy. The key activities undertaken were: Capacity Building Workshops for WLHIVs and PLHIVs; Community Consultations and Diagnostic Study using Peer Research Methodology; Policy Drafting Workshop; National and State Consultations and Handing over the Policy Draft to Government of Rajasthan. During the Year 2, a wide dissemination of Policy Draft was undertaken in addition to Media Consultations, Sensitization Workshops and One-on-One Meetings. The grant was externally and internationally evaluated as a Catalytic Grant Evaluation.

	Evaluation of Integrating Selected MIYCN Interventions in Existing Polio Eradication Platform of Project Concern International (PCI) in Uttar Pradesh

Project Description	Project Concern International (PCI) was implementing the Core Group Polio Project (CGPP) in 5 high-risk districts (Meerut, Moradabad, Muzaffarnagar, Sambhal and Shamli) in Uttar Pradesh. The CGPP was operating in “high-risk areas” (HRA) for polio within the sections not covering the entire block areas. Building upon the success of polio eradication, PCI had plan to focus on strengthening routine immunization (RI) and other critical health and nutrition interventions using its lessons learned, promising practices, and the various mobilization platforms it has helped to create. A&T collaborated with PCI for an implementation research project to test the feasibility of integrating selected MIYCN interventions in the platform of the CGPP to improve selected MIYCN behaviours and practices relating to maternal dietary diversity, exclusive breastfeeding, and dietary diversity in complementary feeding in the community. The study design was a Randomized Control Trial (RCT) model that compared groups receiving the standard package of interventions vs. nutrition (MIYCN) intensified package of interventions. Evaluation of this randomized control trial included repeated cross-sectional surveys at the baseline and end line – both were conducted by IMPACT. Basically, the success of the model was assessed on the basis of improved changes in the selected indicators on MIYCN and knowledge and practices related to dietary diversity and complementary feeding among pregnant women and mothers of 6-23 months children.

Project Description	IntraHealth introduced msakhi, an open source Android application in Badagaon block of Jhansi district of Uttar Pradesh, in India. It was initially provided to two grass root health functionaries i.e. ANMs and ASHAs. After two successful years of use of msakhi by these two functionaries, IntraHealth piloted the application with the third grass root functionaries i.e. Anganwadi Workers (AWWs), whose roles cut across health and nutrition within Maternal and Child Health. AWWs are the functionaries of the Ministry of Women and Child Development, while ASHAs and ANMs belong to the Ministry of Health. IMPACT was hired for conducting the Assessment of the mHealth Intervention in Jhansi to assess the knowledge of AWWs and ICDS supervisors on key health and nutrition issues as well as knowledge of pregnant women and mothers of children aged 12-23 months. A total of 75 AWWs and 605 women were covered along with focus group discussions with ASHAs/AWWs/AWW Supervisors.

In all, 201 health facilities were assessed which mainly included district hospitals, sub-divisional/Referral hospitals/FRUs and select PHCs with competent surgeons. Under the facilities assessment, site visits were made to check the availability of staff, operation theatre readiness, infrastructure setup with equipment and medicines and client interviews were also conducted to assess the satisfaction with the services.

Project Description	CRY has been implementing field level interventions through its NGO partners, adopting a life cycle approach. As per the life cycle approach, the target group are divided into three groups as 0 to 5 year; 5+ to 14 years and 14+ to 18 years. In terms of thematic areas, the major focus of 0-5 years is health and nutrition, for 6+ to 14 years and 14+ to 18 years is education, protection and participation. CRY has now identified two “Flagship Programmes”, through which CRY intends to demonstrate both the functioning and impact of the proposed model that includes Early Childhood Care and Development (ECCD) and Adolescent Girls Programme (AGP). Project Description	Digital Green is a global development organization that empowers smallholder farmers to lift themselves out of poverty by harnessing the collective power of technology and grassroots-level partnerships. It has been promoting best practices for wheat cultivation through video-based approach in Bihar since 2012. Earlier, the output indicators such as viewers’ outreach, screening, adoptions etc. were reviewed on the micro-practice (individual video) level. Going forward with the new strategy, it was envisaged that DG would identify most impactful practices within the package of practices for each crop. These most impactful practices would play a vital role increasing the crop yield. Further, it can subsequently help farmers to get better income also. The list of videos considered as most impactful practices under wheat cultivation were: 1. Early Sowing of wheat 2. Irrigation and urea application during pinnacle stage IMPACT was assigned a task of conducting the evaluation of the intervention through wheat yield estimation in two blocks each in Samastipur and Supaul districts of Bihar. About 400 women farmers were covered in both the districts which were supported by Ajeevika Motivators.

It has been promoting best practices for wheat cultivation through video-based approach in Bihar since 2012. IMPACT was hired to conduct the evaluation of the intervention where videos related to crop improvement techniques were shown to the women farmers and were encouraged to adopt one or more of the three approaches including seed treatment, sowing and irrigation during tuber formation. The programme was implemented in selected blocks of Ramgarh and Pakur districts of Jharkhand. A total of 300 women farmers were covered to estimate the incremental yield of potato through most impactful practices and assess the change in estimated income of potato growers.

Project Description	International Youth Foundation (IYF) in collaboration with Quest Alliance commissioned a research to understand the employment opportunities and ecosystem in and around Sricity – a Special Economic Zone (SEZ) established by the Government of Andhra Pradesh in 2012. The purpose of this research is to understand the demand and supply of human resource and the employment opportunities available in the region for young people, particularly young girls in the age group of 18-25 years. The research engaged with a variety of stakeholders including employers, training institutes, recruitment agencies and NGOs, academic institutions in the region along with the youth and their parents. IMPACT was hired to conduct the labour market/employers’ assessment as well as undertake survey to assess the work readiness among youths to understand the Ecosystem also. About 300 youths and 100 parents were covered. Under the research assessment, employers like PepsiCo, Colgate Palmolive, Cadburys, FoxCon Mobiles (Rising Star Mobiles), etc. who are in Sricity Integrated Business City were interviewed. Additionally, recruitment consultants and manpower supplier agencies, training institutions were also covered to oversee the situation for youths.

Project Description	“foreningen Svalorna Indien Bangladesh”– The Swallows India Bangladesh is a non-profit development organisation, with head office in Lund, Sweden. The Swallows was established in 1959 and works in India since 1962. There were about 6 partner NGOs who work in their targeted areas to empower the marginalized communities ensuring their rights are not violated and claimed properly. Additionally, these organizations were influencing the government policies through their advocacy and capacity building initiatives to take collective action for a socially just society. IMPACT was entrusted to work with partners of Swallows India to support them in conducting the baseline survey in their programme areas. The main objective of the baseline survey was to think through the programme objectives more critically, re-visit the change the programme intends to facilitate, identify processes or indicators that would help in assessing the change and to provide an information base against which the change could be assessed or effectiveness of the programme could be reviewed. To finalise the baseline survey of the country programme, it was imperative that The Swallows undertake a similar process at the project level. This enabled The Swallows to establish information base at project level and to identify critical indicators that would help in tracing the progress at the project level. The process enriched the capacity at both The Swallows and project levels in fine-tuning log frames and in revisiting the theory of change.
