Established in 2008, IMPACT Partners in Social Development is registered in India under Company’s Act. IMPACT is exclusively engaged in capacity building, program design and conceptualization, implementation, research and evaluation of social sector development projects. IMPACT works on the principles of Partnerships, Knowledge sharing and Development of sustainable strategies. IMPACT believes that every individual bring their own set of knowledge and experience and collective wisdom can result into multi-fold increase in the impact of social development. Hence, IMPACT believes in working with and strengthening existing systems as opposed to creating new structures.

Though not at the desirable level, women's engagement in the labour force has been consistently increasing in the last few decades in India, and globally. However, this increase has not translated into an increase in their participation in corporate leadership in India. According to Global Gender Gap 2023, India ranks 127 out of 146 countries in terms of women in leadership roles in the corporates across sectors. The government’s commitment to women-led development is a positive step towards increasing their participation.
This report explores the causes and consequences of limited representation of women on the boards and C-Suit level. Further, the report elaborates on the economic and non-economic benefits of increased representation of women in leadership and makes recommendations for stakeholders including corporates, regulatory agencies, government and women themselves.
